6th December, and so far, it's been great. My room's cleaned up and ready to be used as a study room and a bed room. My BBQ night went pretty well, everyone enjoyed it. I suppose. My trip to Genting was the highlight of my life of 16. And I'm about to blog about all of that right here, right now.
My room was once a big mess. I needed a snorkel to dive through the junk and dirty laundry that's been smoldering on my floor for the past year. My walls were boring and there were dust rabbits everywhere. I won't say dust bunnies cos bunnies are cute. Rabbits make me think about those little white monsters in the game Rayman : Raving Rabbids. And believe me, they're more annoying than a blind mongoose on crack. I swept up the place a bit. Couldn't actually count on my maid to clean the place up cos she only tidies up the place to make it more habitable. I cleared my work table and put a lamp there. While rummaging through the junk, I found a few old class pictures and mementos of the past. I stuck as much as I could on the wall. The part above my drum set with the 4 class photos and still 1 empty frame (left for the Form 5 picture). I packed up my PS2 so that I wouldn't spend so much time on it. Now I have a nerd's room without all the chemical formulas on the wall. At least, not yet.
The BBQ night. 2nd December. About 20 people on my guest list. I figured 3 dozen lamb chops would be enough. NOT. It ran out with the first dozen guests and my dad went out to get more. I guess my marinade was THAT good. Anyway, the food was real good. Bread pudding and ice cream was probably the best kind of dessert there is. My tuition teacher came and brought like 5 or 6 of her kids. Figures that the food ran out in a snap. It was good to see some of my old friends from SKSK back together again. Good to see new faces mingle with some old ones. The music in the place came from either mine or sai's phone hooked up to my amplifier. Oh, and there was a hang out area in the driveway made up of a couch, some porch chairs and a carpet. Didn't spend much time there since i had to run around the house grabbing fresh plates, stirring up the grill, and making sure the buffet table doesn't flip over. Either way, people went home full, clean and satisfied.
Genting Highlands trip 3rd December 2007. After a few postpones and RM26 later, we were finally there. The gates into the most entertaining place in Malaysia. We didn't hesitate to go aboard that cable car to the top of the hill. I actually realized that we were all coincidentally wearing black. HAHA. OK, not funny. So, after getting to our destination up top the mountain. We went straight for first world theme park. We actually got a bit lost trying to get there following Fahmi's theories on directions. After establishing we took the wrong way to get to the theme park, we turned around and found a better route. Through the hotel. Once we got in, the first thing we did was eat. Burger King had a breakfast offer? Yeah, I just found out. Anyway, after that, we went straight to the theme park and the next thing we did was drive go karts. They were freakishly slow. How were we supposed to race with each other when all our karts have a high speed of only 10 kph?? I guess it's some kind of safety precaution. After we got that out of the way, we went for the Spinner ride. Which is basically a bunch of kid swings tied to a spinning top and we go round and round and round. It was fun. Not really thrilling, but fun. Oh, by the way, I took a video while driving the go kart. It's not like there's a remote possibility of me getting into a fatal accident at 10kph. I took another video of me screaming on the Spinner ride. The videos were really cool once I looked at it again. And again and again and again. And again on Youtube and Photobucket.
After that, we went on a more thrilling ride. A roller coaster called the Cyclone. It's actually Malaysia's first roller coaster. So, I'm guessing all the metal in the tracks are probably a few decades old. Oh the joy. We had lunch at about 4pm at Marrybrown's. After a few more roller coasters later, we finally lined up for The Space Shot. Which was probably the most awesome ride in the park. I was on the verge of pissing my pants while in the queue. It was a short queue though, goes the same with all the rides we've been on. Short lines. Only once we were getting on the ride is when the lines started to get long. It was really good luck for all of us. Well, we actually got on the Flying Coaster before the Space Shot. Both were really good rides. But Space Shot got more popularity because you need to pay RM10 to ride The Flying Coaster 2 times. A 3rd time required RM12. Anyway, after the Space Shot, we rode the Flying Coaster a 2nd time, and went home. I gave my parents a hug and thanked them for letting me go to Genting Highlands and have the best day I've ever had.My room was once a big mess. Yeah, I did have the best day I've ever had. I didn't need to spend it with the girl of my dreams. I didn't need to spend a fortune for it. I didn't even need to plan it out so full of details to make it the best thing ever. Just goes to show that the best things in life are also the simplest things in life. But heck, I've got the rest of December '07 to have another day like it. I learned more than chemical compounds from tuition during this holiday. I learned how to live life as it is.
